Planning Ahead

In case you're planning ahead for next year... here's the supply list for 2010-2011!

Camp Pepin Cabin Camping -- June 2-3

Camp Pepin is nestled in the wooded bluffs of the Mississippi River on the 28 mile-long Lake Pepin (a widening in the Mississippi River). It is located between Stockholm and Pepin, WI -- the birthplace of Laura Ingalls Wilder. This camp is part of the Red Wing Family YMCA of Minnesota, and has been in operation since 1935.

We will be leaving Barton on Wednesday, June 2nd at 7:45am and returning the next afternoon, Thursday, June 3rd, in time to catch the bus home. YMCA camp leaders will be organizing and running a number of classes, including archery, orienteering, survival skills and others. Details and permission form. Human Body Expert Project

Project packets for the Human Body Expert Project went home before spring break.  That and additional project information is available on the Human Body Project page.  This project is to be completed at home, and contracts are due on April 7, 2010 with the final project due on April 28, 2010.

Bring Swimming Gear!

We'll be going swimming at the Blaisdell YMCA this week (Tuesday, February 16 - Friday, February 19, 2010), so be sure to bring your swimming gear to school.

Valentine Exchange

We will be decorating bags to collect our valentines the week of February 8 and will be exchanging valentines the afternoon of Friday, February 12. Please help your child have his/her valentines ready by Friday, February 12 (class list).

Snowshoeing Feb. 10

Mark your calendars!  Room 209 and 211 will be going snowshoeing at the Richardson Nature Center on Wed., February 10, 2010.  Your child will need all of the typical WINTER outside gear:  boots, hat, mittens, warm jacket, snow pants or long underwear.  Details and permission form...

It is time again to meet with you and your child to go over the goals we set in the fall and to set new goals for the remainder of the year.  Please return the conference sign-up sheet as soon as possible with three times that would work for you marked.
