7th Grade Immunizations

ATTENTION PARENTS OF 6th GRADERS:

In the next few weeks you will be receiving letters that specify which immunizations your child will need in order to start school next fall. Please look at what shots are needed and, if possible, make an appointment to get them now. Waiting until fall creates unnecessary disruption. Make sure you forward a copy of the document from the clinic to the school.

All students beginning 7th grade next year will need immunization documentation. Details...

Asthma Update

If your student has asthma or has had asthma in the past, you may be receiving a letter in the mail from Minneapolis Public Schools Nursing Services. The Minneapolis Public Schools and the American Lung Association are working together to build a stronger school asthma program. We need you to help us by returning the survey. Please call nursing services at 612-668-0853 if you have any questions.

Flu Update

The number of students absent with flu-like symptoms has been hovering around 20 to 30 every day for the past few weeks. This is below the 5% of total student enrollment that is required to submit a report to the Minnesota Department of Health, and is a very typical number of absences for any given time of the school year.

Please help us keep our numbers low by keeping your children home if they have the following symptoms: a fever of 100 degrees or higher PLUS a cough OR sore throat. Be sure to let us know by calling the attendance line at 612-668-3588.

Vision Screening
Students in grades K, 1, 3, and 5 will have their vision screened on Nov. 2, 3, or 4.  See the flier that come home for more info...
