Bike Day

Friday May 25 is Bike Day! Middles classes will be biking from Barton to Lake Nokomis--an approximately 6-mile, 45-minute ride. Each student will need a working bike, and a helmet. We'll eat a picnic lunch at the lake--have your student bring a bag lunch from home, or order a bag lunch from school in advance (See permission form for more information and to order a lunch).

We need adult volunteers--some to ride along with us, plus 1 or 2 to drive lunches and playground equipment to and from the lake. More information and the permission form can be found here: http://barton.mpls.k12.mn.us/uploads/120525_bike.pdf

Field Trip: Uppers' Shakespeare Play

On Wednesday, May 23, we'll go to the Scottish Rite Temple (2011 Dupont Ave. S.) for the Uppers' production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. Field Trip: Energy and U

On Monday, May 14, our Middles classes will go to the U of M Campus for a program on energy science and technology, presented by the Department of Chemistry professors. We'll  leave school at 10:30 and return at about 12:40. This program is free for students, but parents will need to sign and return the permission slip found here: PDFEnergy and U.

Homework: Minnesota History Project

You will present your project during Portfolio Sharing as part of a museum walk.
