Room 206 Book Reports 2012-2013

Reading is so important - and, it's also a lot of fun. In addition to formal book reports, you should read every day and plan to share with the class.

Each month there will be an assigned book project based on a book read at home. Most of the writing will take place at home except as indicated. Here's an overview for the year. Complete details will be posted once the handout is sent home:

  • September: Fiction or non-fiction, student choice. Oral report prepared at home, given at school.
  • October: Fictional chapter book. Short written report in the form of a booklet constructed in class.
  • November: Fictional chapter book. Written "Front Page News" format. Completed at home.
  • December: Book Project Holiday! No report due, but keep reading!
  • January: Biography of an African-American. Interview format - write questions and answers based on the biography.
  • February: Biography choice. Create a puppet of your subject and tell his/her story through the puppet (first person).
  • March: Your choice.  Share your great book with an adult whom you love!
  • April: Choice. Present your book in a creative way - the sky's the limit!
