Congratulations to the Barton Spellers!! Barton conducted our annual spelling bee on Monday, Jan. 14th!!  We had 31 incredible spellers in the bee! It came down to a tough “spell off” between Nathaniel Chang-Deutsch and Quinn Jones…Quinn walked away as the champion. She will represent Barton In the district bee on Feb. 7 at Fowell. The finalists were Lila Riemenschneider, Kate Stenzel and Jackson Jones!

Grief Support Group for Children and Families
Thursday, January 10, 2019 3:20 PM

Families with children and teens who have experienced the death of a loved one are invited to participate in a free, seven-week grief support group through Fairview Health Services. We incorporate fun, healing, and age-appropriate activities to help the entire family through the grieving process. Children and teens, ages 4 through 18, are divided into groups by age. While children and teens are meeting, support is offered simultaneously for their parent(s) and/or caregivers. The grief support group is free to join, but registration is required. Barton’s State of Our Schools and Title I Annual Meeting‚Äč will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the Media Center following October’s Leadership Council meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to:

  • Provide information about the current state of the school
  • Provide an update on the School Improvement Plan
  • Share priorities, goals, and strategies for improvement
  • Provide ways in which families can be engaged throughout the year
  • Clarify the purpose of Title I
  • Describe the communication parents/guardians can expect to receive regarding their child’s progress

Childcare will be provided. We hope to see you there!
