Mad scientists! Kitchen chemistry on Halloween
The scientists in 209 have been learning about the states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases. The young chemists in these photos were trying to answer two questions:

  1. How many drops of water can be placed on a penny?

  2. Does water ever make a shape of its own? This question was of particular interest since we all know that water (and all other liquids) take the shape of the container. So what happens when there is no container?
