Sixth Graders Shine in Math Masters Competition

On March 13, 2010, 6th graders from rooms 202, 204, and 2 participated in Math Masters.  Math Masters is a program for 5th and 6th graders that want to compete in the Math Masters competition.  After meeting two days a week for two months, 10 Barton 6th graders competed at North High School.  Some events included a fact drill, individual rounds and team rounds.  One Barton student paced 3rd in individual events and three students got honorable mentions in individual events.  Three students got ribbons for the fact drill.  Also, team 250 placed second in team rounds and overall.  Team 190 placed first in team and overall competitions.

We had a lot of fun practicing and competing against at least 6 other schools.  Great job to the Math Masters students and a special thanks to coaches and teacher, Katrina Belding!
