This Week
We get to read stories all about Little Red Riding Hood. This will be our only story with the big, bad wolf. Do you have any other wolf stories at home? Later on in the week we will be creating a puppet show. We are exploring new math routines and will figure out how many pockets we are wearing as a class.

Homework
This is our first week of homework. Throughout the week, choose homework that fits into your sane and happy homelife. We will share about homework on Friday.

Conferences
I have many families signed up for conferences. I will be contacting families I have yet to schedule.

Class Directory
I have a collection of names, addresses, and other contact info for our class directory. Is anyone interested in putting the information into a spreadsheet? Let me know if you would like to help.

Lice
Yes, we have had a case of lice. We are using our blue bags to eliminate “lice alley.” You may be wondering how to help at home. Check your child’s head regularly.

My Spring Student Teacher
My name is Kelsey Lehman, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to do my student teaching in Dawn's classroom. I am originally from southeastern Wisconsin and am currently in a graduate program for elementary education at the University of Minnesota. I will be observing in Dawn's classroom throughout the year, and doing my student teaching come spring. In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, biking, and traveling. My last travel experience was a semester spent studying and teaching abroad in northern Ecuador. I am really looking forward to this year filled with teaching and learning at Barton!

Squishies
If your child has squishies, please keep them at home.   There has been some trading at recess and on the bus. We are trying to limit the temptation.
