Barton Ultimate Frisbee Club
2013 Disc Dogs

The Barton ultimate team is co-ed and is open to all 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and has a season that runs from April to June.

Ultimate (also known as Ultimate Frisbee) is a non-contact team sport, in which a 7-person team attempts to move a 175g flying disc into their opponents' end-zone, similar to football. However, when in possession of the disc, a player can pivot and pass but may not take any steps. 

One aspect of Ultimate that sets it apart from other sports is the emphasis on sportsmanship and respect that places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Since Ultimate is self-officiated, players are responsible for calling fouls and resolving disagreements on the field in a respectful and spirited manner.

Several Minneapolis high schools also have ultimate teams (clubs):
