Uppers School Supplies

Thanks in advance for helping to outfit all of our students for success!!As you are outfitting your student with notebooks, folders and pencils, please consider donating the following classroom supplies:

  • AAA batteries for graphing calculators in math (one of our most important needs!)

  • Tissues, wipes & paper towels

  • pens and pencils

  • markers & colored pencils

  • glue sticks

  • paper products (plates, cups, napkins…)

  • snacks (pretzels, crackers, cereal… middle schoolers need snacks, too!)

  • other arts & craft supplies

We have Barton Planners ordered for all students ($5) so there is no need to buy an additional date book or assignment calendar!

Core Classes

Amber’s Language Arts:

  • A 3-subject MEAD Five Star notebook (college or wide-ruled).  This notebook is cumulative and must last ALL year

  • Sturdy two-pocket folder (matching color to notebook if possible)

  • one highlighter, glue-stick and box of Kleenex to donate to community use

  • pens & pencils

Flory’s Language Arts:

  • FOUR separate 1-subject composition books

  • 2-pocket folder (matching color to notebook)

  • pack of index cards, pens & pencils

  • one highlighter, glue-stick and box of Kleenex to donate to community use

Science Classes

  • one 70-page durable notebook to be used only as lab notebook & matching 2-pocket folder

  • pens & pencils

  • Kleenex & paper towels or bleach wipes to donate to community use

Social Studies:

  • A 3-subject MEAD Five Star notebook (college or wide-ruled).  This notebook is cumulative and must last ALL year

  • Sturdy two-pocket folder, matching notebook color

  • Dry erase markers, glue-sticks, paper towels/plates, and box of Kleenex to donate to community use

  • pens & pencils

Mathematics Classes

  • NUMBER ONE DONATION NEED:

AAA  BATTERIES FOR GRAPHING CALCULATOR USE!!

  • spiral notebooks (either several 70-sheet or one large durable 3-subject); may be ruled or graph paper—many students prefer to have graph paper! ALL classes will be using graph paper regularly (almost daily); it will be available in class if you need it.

  • 2-pocket folder (matching color to notebook)

  • access to a scientific calculator or calculator app on a smart phone to use at home ($8-12--look for sin & cos buttons) or free DESMOS app loaded on a cell phone or computer. The phone calculator and DESMOS together are as useful as a graphing calculator. Algebra and Geometry students may want to upgrade to a graphing calculator as we will be using them daily in class and you will use them in high school, too.TI-84 or TI-84 Plus are best. All math classes have graphing calculators to use in class, but students will need a scientific calculator, phone calculator or DESMOS available for homework.

  • pens & pencils, colored pencils, glue-sticks & Kleenex to donate to community use

  • Geometry: GOOD QUALITY COMPASS& straight-edge (REQUIRED DAILY!), protractor & tracing paper

  • Algebra/Geometry: Textbooks MUST be covered with either a purchased cover (for a LARGE textbook) or via the paper-bag method—no tape on books! (we can help with this!)
