Dear Families,

It’s going to be an exciting week!  The fairy tales are written, typed up, and all in order.  The hardcover books are created.  Now our job is to illustrate, put the  books together, and practice reading our stories out loud.  We are looking forward to sharing our original fairy tales with you at our Author’s Tea on Thursday morning from 7:45-8:45,  You will be amazed and proud!  If no one from your family can be there, let me know.  I’ll make sure to make a movie for you so you can have your Author’s Tea at home.

The Happily Ever After Party

Thanks to all who volunteered to help out with the celebration of learning on October 31.  I can’t wait to see the kids all dressed up like fairy tale characters.  I can’t decide whether to be a queen or a fairy godmother.  If you need to borrow a costume, I’ll have some ready.  If you want to come as yourself, that’s just fine too.

No School Friday Nov. 2

It’s officially a record keeping day, but at Barton we will have our Staff/Council retreat.  I appreciated working with a caring faculty and group of parents who meet every 2 years to create and solidify our vision for the school.

Kids Voting

This year on election day we will have Kid’s Voting for the first time at Barton!  We’ll learn about the process of choosing our leaders.

Emily is (almost) in Charge!

Starting November 5, and for the next two weeks, Emily will be teaching full time.  I’ll be standing by to give advice, support, and feedback, help with small groups, and enjoy seeing our class bloom under Emily’s care.  She is more than ready- wish her well!

Thanks!  Kristin
