Dear Families,
Having a student teacher is always a joy, and it is always sad to see them go. We will especially miss Emily, who was a lively, hard-working, and earnest teaching partner for me and wonderful support for all of our students. Monday is Emily’s last day- she’ll be traveling to Duluth in the pm to spend the holiday with her family. Thanks to Emily for everything, and I wish her well as she begins her SanFrancisco adventure!
Stone Soup
We will be preparing veggies on Monday, and cooking the soup on Tuesday. It will be delicious, for sure! Some kids have already brought their veggies- I am hoping for lots more to arrive tomorrow. If you forget, send them in on Tuesday and we’ll get them cooked up. On Wednesday we will serve soup from 11:30-12:30. Please come if you can! It will be delicious!
To Market, To Market
Emily and the class explored the questions “Where does bread come from?” and “What else comes from wheat?” In the next few weeks, we will ask similar questions about soup, water, books, and hula hoops!
In math, we’ll be working with bigger numbers, and learning all about money. Students in Dawn’s and Kristin’s classes will have a chance to create a store and sell goods to their neighbors.
Every student will have a chance to choose something to learn about, and will present the new learning to the class. More coming soon!
We are well! (knock on wood)
We have had no new strep for several days, but Dawn’s class has had 2 cases. It’s important to keep warm, wash hands, and get enough sleep. Thanks! Kristin
