Room 211

August 30, 2015

We are off to a very EXCELLENT start.

14 great third graders combined with 14 awesome 4th graders will work hard together this year!

Rules, Routines and Rituals: We are continuing to get to know each other and the expectations in the room. We brainstormed how the room would look, sound and feel like if we were to have the BEST possible year. We also chatted about what it would look, sound and feel like if it was the WORSE year!!

Next week we will use those ideas to help us create the rules we will follow in room 211 to have our best year!

Supplies: Thanks to all who have sent in contributions for school supplies. I am asking for a $35.00 donation to cover the expense of supplies school supplies for each child. Checks may be made to The Barton Foundation if you have not had a chance to contribute.

Classroom Web Page: Greta’s mom, Abby, has agreed to continue maintaining our classroom web page. If there is something you think would be useful to have on the page please let Abby abbyann@gmail.com or I know.

Parent Information Night: I am looking forward to having parents come to the Parent Information event on Thursday, September 10 from 6:30 to 8:00. It will give me a chance to highlight some of the activities that will take place this year. In addition, I will be able to answer specific questions you might have.

Wednesdays: Wednesday is the night I regularly send home homework. Your child will need a sturdy homework folder. Please have the folder in their backpack each day, as occasionally things are sent on other days of the week.

This week’s homework was for parents. Three important papers need to be returned to school. A white student information and emergency card, a blue behavior at Barton School paper and a green bus transportation expectations sheet. Please get these important pieces of paperwork in by Wednesday, September 2.

Play dates: Please make sure you send me a note (or email) if your child is having a play date and not following their usual going home routine. Also NO bus passes until September 8. Then Brittany prefers requests by email: Brittany.Alexander@mpls.k12.mn.us

Contact Information: I am always available for questions and concerns. Best way to reach me is email:

patty.campbell@mpls.k12.mn.us (school) patty@qwest.net (home) It does not matter which address you use, both are checked daily.
