Dear 216 Parents,

Compliments
The class is continuing to work hard to earn compliments.  They are very close and are excited to have the celebration on Tuesday!

In the Classroom
Math – 4th graders are continuing to work on studying arrays and using them to help multiply.  3rd graders are working on different addition strategies when it comes to large numbers.

Literature – The students are doing very well with their literature circles, they have started a character study with the main character in their book.  Character traits and character emotions have been a big topic of discussion during this time.

Social Studies – We are studying the government and what its roll is through discussion, reading and group work.

In the News – Students had a lot of opportunities to learn about whales this week through their news article and Time for Kids reading and activity.

Spelling – Spelling tests will be given on Thursdays.  The list for the following week is given out on Fridays.  Students have been doing a good job with their daily word work using their spelling words in class.

Homework
Reading: Students should be reading 30 minutes every evening.
Spelling: If your student chooses to study the spelling words at home.

Art Adventure
Students had a great time during their first art adventure activity on Thursday.  They had so much fun learning and then engaging in creating their own art!  They are looking forward to Tuesdays session!
