3/20/2017 Newsletter & Homework

Dawn’s and Kristin’s

Class Newsletter

March 20, 2017

Clara Barton Open School

Dear Families,

Just two weeks of school and

it’s Spring Break! (woot woot!) Both

classes are working hard on their

plays. This week we will paint murals

for our stage sets and get a few

rehearsals in. If your child has lots

to memorize, run those lines at home!

Plan to see both plays on March 30,

from 7:45-8:45 and then join us in

102 and 104 to look at the art on the

walls and have a little after-play

Guest Teachers

Sometimes your class will have

a guest teacher- Dawn’s did last week,

and Kristin’s will on Wednesday. It’s

important to think about welcoming

guest teachers- have a chat about

ways your child can help things run

smoothly when the teacher is away.

Camping Trip

Our annual camping trip this

year is May 18 and 19. To make

planning easier, we are sending a

“commitment to camp” survey home

MONDAY and we are hoping to have

them all back ASAP. We are offering

a small bribe to students who bring

the form on TUESDAY, so be ready to

read, sign, and send back.

Strep throat is going around

the school, and has hit 102 and 104.

It is really important that you let

both teachers AND the school nurse

know if your child has strep or any

other communicable illness. PS.

Sometimes strep does NOT cause a

sore throat, and can be very serious

for some kids. When in doubt, get

checked out.

New Student in 102

We will welcome Elam Vergara,

first grade boy, to the hallway

sometime this week! What a

wonderful chance to practice

Be gathering clothing for

costumes. In Dawn’s class, students

wear a special color depending on part.

In Kristin’s, soldiers wear pajamas and

townspeople should be creative.

Costumes should be worn to school on

the morning of the play.

Used Book Fair

The used book fair organizers

are ready to accept donations. Have

your child bring used books to the

classroom. We will count them and

pass them on.

K-1-2 Dance

Look for announcements from

our parent rep. Wouldn’t it be cool if

everyone came?
