Monday, April 13, 2015 9:10 AM

Dear Families.

This is Brent writing the newsletter this week. I would like to thank each and every one of you for making me feel so welcomed at Barton. My time here has been a great experience. I only hope the future may allow me to return if a position is available. This will be my last week of Student Teaching. A little bit about me. I have two great dogs, both lab mixes and a wonderful wife named Christina. We live in Brooklyn Park. I am avid skier, biker, sportsman, camper, and motorcyclist. I have a mountain bike race coming up in just a few weeks. I will graduate with my Bachelors Degree in Science with a Major in Elementary Education From Augsburg on May 3rd.

Last Week

We began our new unit “Eyes to the Sky”. Each day students made weather observations. We made sky & cloud finders to help them with their observations. We also had many hands on science experiments.

ThisWeek                         It is national severe weather week. To kick off this week we will learn about extreme weather. We will make tornados and use oreos to show the different moon phases. Thursday will be Brent’s last day with us we will have a little science party to send him off.

                     Home Work

Practice math facts with addition and subtraction. Use flash cards or play math games on hooda math games online.

Dress in Layers!

Spring weather changes rapidly, so it can be helpful to dress in layers. Last Friday we had snow then sunshine.  Some of our students were worried they would be cold due to the snow!
