Dear Families,

We had a good time learning about the night sky.  I am hoping you all get a chance to look at some stars soon.  I’ve been hearing about our students sharing their knowledge about weather at home.  Right now, it’s beautiful- nice, fluffy cumulus clouds in the sky with just a little wind.  Perfect camp weather!

This week we’ll return to our question “what’s up?” and find that the sky is for the birds and other creatures that fly.  Learning about birds will help us get ready for some serious bird watching at camp.

Can you believe we will be headed to camp in just a week and a half?

* If you offered a tent, bring it on Monday May 13.  We need to count and label the tents. We will need all the tents that were offered.

*If you offered a cooler with ice, bring it to school on Thursday. Stoves can come on Thursday too.

If you are a shopper, Sarah Leslie is coordinator, and will  have your name and info.  She will activate her shoppers a few days before camp. More info to come!

Needs for Camp

We need:

Walking sticks @4 feet

Restaurant “pickle buckets”- former contents don’t matter.  We want the buckets for a camp stool.

Our second graders have some MAP testing coming up, on Monday May 13 and Wednesday May 15.  There is nothing special to do to prepare.  I’ve found it works the best if we keep it low-key and make it just another day at school.  Let me know if you have questions or comments about the MAP test.

Mother’s Day

Just a friendly reminder to the families out there.  Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12.
