9-11 Tribute Concert at Lake Harriet Bandshell
Thursday, September 1, 2011 8:30 PM

You are invited to a wonderful evening of music on Sunday night, September 11th 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Harriet Band Shell. The concert is entitled, 9-11 Tribute Our Community Remembers. This is the 10th time this annual concert has been held in remembrance of a very tragic day in our nation’s history. An all volunteer, 60-piece orchestra and 70-voice chorus will perform the music.

This year before the concert begins will will have a special display for your family to see. Beginning at 5:00 p.m. there will be representatives from local 1st responders such as police, fire and paramedics on hand to talk to and view their equipment. In addition we are inviting representatives from all the branches of the US Armed Forces with displays to view. Please come down early to meet and thank the personnel on hand before the concert starts. Consider making it a family afternoon at Lake Harriet. Perhaps plan on picnicking and maybe take a streetcar ride.

Some of the music that will be played is: ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’, ‘America the Beautiful’ and 'Christine's Lullaby' which was written for the youngest victim of the 9-11 attacks Christine Hansen who was 2 years old.
