Human Body Homework Project

With this project each student will become an "expert" on some aspect of the human body, such as a body part, a body system, or an illness of the body. Students will research the topic, write a report, and prepare a presentation for their classmates.

Students will need to select their subject and return the contract by Wednesday, March 3. The final project is due Monday, March 22. Projects will be presented to the class during the week of March 22, 2010.

More information about the project can be found here:

Art Adventures Homework Project

The purpose of this project is for each student to become an "expert" on an artist of his or her choice. The student should plan to spend about 10 hours on this homework project.

Students will need to select their artist and return the contract by Tuesday, November 17. The final project is due Monday, December 14. Projects will be presented to the class during the week of December 14, 2009.

More information about the project can be found here:

Writers' Notebooks: A Collage Project
Every student has a writer's notebook, and because no two writers are alike, we're making our notebooks look unique as well. On Tuesday, October 20th, kids will have time in class to decorate their writing notebook covers. Please have them bring collage materials from home. See the attached memo for more information and suggestions for what to bring.

October 09 Sports Report
This report was the kids' idea, and it's intended to be a fun, low-stress project. If your child has not yet turned in his or her report, the next display day will be Tuesday, October 20th. Students needing more time may have until the next Tuesday, October 27th.

New spelling lists will be sent home each Monday, for homework throughout the week and tests on Friday mornings.
