Image Gallery Tips

When creating image galleries, it's usually easiest to use your favorite photo editing software to get all of the pictures edited and in the proper order before uploading them.  Google's Picasa is a good free option for PC users (there's now a Mac version too), and iPhoto is good for Mac users.

Once you get your photos organized, you'll want to export them at a smaller size than the originals.  Most digital cameras can take pictures at very high resolutions (for example, pictures taken with a 7.1 megapixel camera will have dimensions of 3072x2304 pixels).  However, the maximum dimension of photos that's displayed in the photo gallery is 400x300 pixels.  If you export pictures at about 800x600 pixels, then they'll be small enough to upload in groups but big enough that if someone wants to view the "full size" image, it's a decent size.

To upload more than one picture at a time, just create a .zip file and then upload that.  For Mac users, select all of the images in the Finder, control+click on one of them, and then choose Compress...

Note that the maximum file size allowed is 16 MB, so if you have a lot of pictures, you may need to upload them in groups.  Sometimes when you upload a .zip file you'll get blanks interspersed with your photos.  Just delete the blank ones.
