Welcome to Room 216
Sunday, August 22, 2010 12:00 PM

August 22, 2010

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome back to room 216.  This is my 22nd year teaching and my 20th year at Barton. My husband Scott and I had a good summer on the farm. We still have 4 cats: Maggie, Delilah, Bob, and B.Z., 16 chickens, and 3 horses. Drama and Pandora are both pregnant and we are very excited.

As part of our work with Responsive Classroom, we will continue using the idea of shared supplies. That means all the supplies belong to all of us in the classroom.  The only supplies which you will need to keep as your own are 2 composition notebooks.  If you bring markers, glue sticks, etc., they become part of our shared supplies.  Only bring to school those supplies you wish to share and leave the others at home. You can choose not to bring any supplies. We are asking for a contribution of $15.00 for group supplies. Everyone will have supplies to use. Please do bring a box or two of Kleenex and a roll of paper towels sometime this fall, they should last most of the year.

Wednesday there will be packet of forms to be filled out. I'm sorry there are so many. Please try to return them by Thursday morning. I have also included the older primary supply list if you still need it, as well as the Goal Setting Conference Sign-Up.

Parent Information Night will be on Thursday September 2nd. If you have any questions throughout the school year, feel free to email me at or call me at 668-3580. I look forward to seeing you all again as school begins.
