Dear Families,
This week we’re continuing our study of the weather. We learned about clouds and rain last week and this week will learn about wind and storms. Next week; severe weather!
In Minnesota, we plan our days around the changing weather. People talk about the weather all the time. Our kids will have a chance to observe and report the weather on a podcast in the next few weeks.

Any Fears?
If your child is afraid of storms, let us know. I’ll make sure there is plenty of support while we are talking about thunder and lightning. Sometimes a taste of weather science can help kids deal with their anxieties.

Sports Day
Friday April 29 it’s Sports Day at Barton. Wear a jersey from your favorite team or clothing to represent your favorite sport.

Paper Cranes
Everyone has learned the first few folds of the peace crane and most of us can fold the whole thing! This is a complex process that helps us think about shapes, fractions, precision, sequences, and counting big numbers. We are helping each other learn to fold, and noticing that precise folds and sharp creases set us up for later success.

The Globes
Thanks to the hard work and sticky hands of Ellis Petersen, our literacy students Sammy and Charlotte and Mai, we have the paper mache globes well on their way. I’m hoping we’ll be all done by the end of the week.

Camping!
We are getting ready!. Keep those permission slips coming in! Thanks! Kristin
