Box Top Scan

Big changes are coming to Box Tops! Over the next few months you'll begin to see a new way to earn cash for your school.

Participating brands have begun to change their packaging from a physical Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops icon: see right image

You’ll see the new Box Tops icon on the majority of the participating products by the end of the summer, with all packaging expected to be transitioned by early next year.  Eventually, the Box Tops program will become digital-only.  They will continue to honor all physical clips until they reach their expiration dates, so keep clipping and sending them to school! The collection tub is on the desk in the main office.

If you see the Box Tops "no more clipping" icon on packages, you can use the Box Tops Bonus App to earn Box Tops for that product.  Download the app, register and select Barton Open School, and then scan an eligible receipt containing Box Tops products.  You’ll earn 10 cents for each Box Tops product purchased plus extra earnings for any Bonus Box Tops opportunities.  The app will automatically add Box Tops to your school’s earnings online, giving visibility to see how you are supporting your school in real-time.  OR, save your receipt for that product, bring it to the Barton main office, and a parent volunteer will scan the receipt for you.

Change is hard!  But checking expiration dates, counting and bundling clips takes a lot of work, and mailing clips across the country isn’t great for the planet.  By eliminating the postage, transportation and shipping of clips, the new version of this program aims to reduce costs for schools, as well as help to reduce our carbon footprint. Also, chances are there are more 'box tops' on your receipt than you realize, and this might increase our overall total.
