This Week
We have poetry fever! Send poetry with your child if they want to share with the class. We will begin working with 2D and 3D shapes this week and comparing the attributes of each shape. By the end of the week we will be constructing our own 3D shapes!
Book Club Lunch
We will have our first discussion of the books this week. We will be making dioramas as we discuss each chapter. The Seven Keys to Comprehension will guide our discussions.
We will be knitting on Tuesday this week at 8:30. Come and help if you can.
Valentine’s Party
If you have already looked at the homework you will have noticed our spelling words are all the names in the class. We will have a Valentine’s party next Monday. Your child is welcome to bring valentines. Treats are welcome too.
Handmade Arts from the Heart
Saturday, February 12th
9am to 4pm
We have over 37 vendors, entertainment and fun food lined up! Charlie’s mom, Tami, will be featuring her photography.
Water Bottles
It is super dry at school! I feel like I could drink a gallon of water when I get home from work. I’m guessing there are several children who feel the same way. Feel free to send a water bottle.
We need of more snacks. Snacks without dairy are preferred.
My Father’s Dragon
Last week we finished reading My Father’s Dragon and students let me know what parts they were interested in learning. I will now take that information and assign parts. Scripts will come home this week. I know they will not be sent home on Monday. I have a yoga training in St. Cloud all weekend and won’t get a chance to look at parts. Once the scripts go home, please look at the role your child will have. It will be highlighted. Eventually we will practice together, make costumes and a set. I have to check the master calendar but I know the play will be sometime before spring break. As always, if you have any questions, let me know.
