Uppers Students Volunteering at FMSC

Students from Amber's language arts classes volunteered at Field My Starving Children in Coon Rapids. Students donated $531 to help pay for the cost of packing food. They packed food for babies between the ages of 7 and 12 months called MannaPack Potato-W.

“I think it’s important to volunteer because it helps so many people in so many ways, and giving is better than receiving.” – Oliver

“My favorite part of volunteering was knowing that the food I was packing was actually going to kids who needed help. I was saving lives.” – Kirra

“It made me feel good thinking about how happy those babies and kids are going to be when eating the food that we packed.” – Amran

“If you think about it, volunteering at someplace like FMSC could be saving a life.” – Ilhan

“My favorite part was just the thought that I put my time into saving little babies’ lives. It is really amazing to me.” – Sam

“I think that it is important to help out and volunteer because we have so much as usually take that for granted. Some people have very little and it is good to give and help them have a little of what we have.” – Farrington

“It is important to volunteer because if you don’t, who will?” – Ella P.

“When we finished our 16th box, we felt how happy all these kids would be.” – Amalia

“When a lady told us how many boxes of food we packed it made me feel good and proud and like our time was worth while.” – Piper

“If people did more than expected, our world would be awesome.” – Collin

“The next person to touch those same bags I just packed would be someone who needed them desperately.” – Hannah C.
