Lake Day Program and All-School Picnic

Our end-of-the-school-year Lake Day program and All-School Picnic for grades 1-8 will be this Friday, May 31, starting at 10 AM at the Lake Harriet band shell. Parents are invited to join us, and teachers appreciate the extra helping hands. The program at the band shell will highlight special achievements this year and celebrate this year's class of graduating 8th graders. The schedule for the day is as follows:

  • 9:30 AM -- Hiking to Lake Harriet band shell
  • 10:00 AM -- Program at the band shell
  • 11:00 AM -- Picnic and games/activities
  • 12:45 AM -- Return hike to Barton School

Please contact Sue Buettgen or your child's teacher if you are able to help with the Lake Day activities, assist with transporting lunches and equipment to the park, or be a member of one of the set-up or clean-up teams. The tradition of Lake Day has been a wonderful way to complete the school year. If your schedules permit, please join us on Friday!

If the weather is uncooperative on Friday, we will hold the program in the DeLapp Commons at 10:00 AM and have class picnics at school. A decision to not go to the lake and use the Commons instead will be made by 9:00 AM that morning. We are hoping the weather cooperates!
