News - September 26
Saturday, September 27, 2014 1:25 PM

It's official - our iMovie project is complete. After a lot of hard work, creativity, and patience we had our viewing party. It was a great success and I just want to say I am truly proud of what each of them accomplished. The movies are AMAZING!
P.S. Special thanks to families that donated snacks to our iMovie Party, the students liked them a lot!
Also hanging in the hall are some of our Hopes and Dreams Projects. Every partnership found a word that embodies a skill or trait they will need in order to achieve their hopes and dreams. VOLUNTEERS are needed to help hang these beautiful works of art in our hall. Please email if interested!
In 5th grade math we are wrapping up division and equal sharing. So remember there is NO time like the present, so bust out those flash cards/xtramath and practice, practice, practice those basic facts! In 6th grade math students are working on geometry and fractions.
This week we started to settle into our LA routine, and I am feeling proud of my more independent 5th/6th graders! Students were able to read and practice comprehension strategies, while other students independently listened to reading, and or read to someone else! It is fun to watch them grow up right before our very eyes!
This week during writer’s workshop students began the prewriting phase of their autobiographies. Next week we will being paragraph writing focusing on interesting words and “flow”.
STAR OF THE WEEK…As I mentioned in the ABCs of room 204 we will be having a start of the week each week this school year. This week I am going to model the expectations, and I will be letting families know what order the student will go in so you can be ready.
