Dear Families,

What a busy two days we have ahead!  We will catch up on our fairytale number books in the morning, and start our original fairytales in the afternoon.  Everyone is excited about the chance to pick a setting, create some characters, and write a “once upon a time” story on their own.  We can’t wait to read to you all at our Author’s Tea on October 24.

Teacher Convention (MEA)

Wednesday is a conference day, but since our conferences are complete (all but two) I will use the day for other work.  Thursday and Friday are special days for teachers to meet with colleagues from around the state, learn from one another and catch up on work.  Thank you for supporting these days for teachers and enjoy the time with your family during these last beautiful days of fall.

Picture Day

Tuesday, October 15, is picture day for students who did not have their picture taken this summer at “Get Connected Day.” It’s also “retake” day for people who had pictures already.  It’s really important that everyone have their picture taken, so they can be in the yearbook!   There are a limited number of scholarships available, so please let me know if you would like a picture package and your need a scholarship to make the purchase.

Our snacks are coming everyday, and are fresh and delicious.  Thanks for supporting the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program for all of our kids.

Steppingstone Theater

The trip to Steppingstone Theater is coming up!  Look for a permission slip attached to this email and in your BEE book.  The cost is $14.00, which covers the ticket and the bus.  We go on October 22.

No Homework This Week

Thanks to Vic Nelson, the King of Spelling, who gets the tests corrected and in the BEE books every Friday.

Lantern Walk

We’ve settled on November 15, from 5-6,  for the annual lantern walk.  Other details to come!

Thanks, Kristin and Katie
