November 2011 book report

  1. Create a "book cover" on 8½ x 11 tag board (supplied at school - make it on paper, then glue it to the tag board).  The cover should include: your own, original, drawing that represents the story, the title, the author of the book and your name.
  2. Create a presentation to deliver in class. Should not be longer than 3 minutes. Use index cards as your presentation notes:
    • Card one: write title and author; write names of one or two characters and "introduce" them by describing their physical appearance, age, gender and personalit
    • Card two:  write a summary of the main problem in the story using no more than one or two sentences. DO NOT tell the conclusion!
    • Card three:  write your reasons that someone should read the story; use exciting examples from the story; be convincing and interesting.
