Patchwork Quilt/Childhood Memory Essay

We read a short story about Faith Ringgold, an African-American quilt artist and storyteller, who has told stories using fabric and words. Like her you have begun to create a story quilt about an important event or memory in your life that was very meaningful to you. Now I would like you to write  a short essay describing that event. Your audience will be your classmates, your teacher and anyone else who reads your writing in the hallway where it will be exhibited. Remember what you have learned about descriptive writing, creating powerful images for the reader with words. Use your pencil like a paintbrush. Look for vivid adjectives and verbs!!!!!
