DOT DAY
Rooms 209 and 211 will be wearing dots on Monday (and possibly other days this week) in honor of International Dot Day. The minimum requirement is 1 dot. It can be on a piece of clothing or not! Students were told to be creative if they don't own any clothing items with dots. That's all for now! More information and details will be revealed during the week!

GOAL SETTING CONFERENCES
Check the attached schedule for conferences. Email at least 2 different options, and I will let you know which date and time you should put on your calendar. Look for pre-conference planning forms to come home this week.

ART ADVENTURES
Volunteers are needed to lead “Art Adventures” in Room 209. This program introduces students to works of art from various cultures. No art experience necessary! The helpful and interesting training class (a perk of this already fun volunteer position) takes place at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts on October 24th from 10:30 am -1 pm, -or- from 5:30-8 pm. Volunteers share reproductions of MIA artworks with the class one or more times in November, and accompany a class tour of the MIA to see the actual pieces of art in December. If you are interested please let me know or you can contact Lara Roy at 612-578-9789 or laramroy@gmail.com. for more information.

MAP TESTING
We are scheduled to take the MAP math test Friday morning at 7:45. The MAP test is a computerized, self-leveling assessment (correct answers lead to more difficult questions; incorrect move to less difficult items.) Results should reflect the instructional level of individual students and show growth over time. The reading test has yet to be scheduled.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUBS
Book club orders can be completed through the end of September, either on line or by sending the completed order and payment to school.
