Volunteer Needs: May/June

Hello Barton!  We are officially into the last month of school. It's a busy time for everyone! There are numerous opportunities to support Barton in May and June. And if the work is spread out, and many take a shift, it's less work for everyone. It's all fun and energizing opportunity to make the end of the year safe and fun for all students and staff.

Not only are we ending this school year, we are also thinking ahead to 2019-2020 and years to come. Please also see information at the end of this email for future planning at Barton.

Future Planning at Barton

Barton Community Events, Programs, and Fundraising Needs Assessment results show that many events and programs are a priority for families, but if we want to continue offering these volunteer run programs and events, new community members need to take on these roles. Programs like artist in residencies (Dancing Classrooms), field trips, classroom materials, Midwest Food Connection, are all a priority.  For those things to continue, we need new parents and community members to step into fundraising roles and program and event coordinating roles.

(We are at a pivotal and crucial time at Barton in terms of volunteer roles.  Many parents who have coordinated events and programs for a while are aging out with their children, who are graduating. )
