A little Broadway right here in southwest Minneapolis. Check out Washburn High School’s production of ‘In the Heights’. Take a break from Netflix and see your neighbors sing and dance. You will be impressed with the talent and touched by the story.  Shows on Feb. 19-21 & 26-28 at 7 pm and Feb. 22 & Mar. 1 at 2 pm at Washburn High School. Tickets may be purchased at the door $12 for adults and $5 for students. Feb. 19 - Pay What You Can.
‘In the Heights’ tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. This high-energy show features lovable characters, a contemporary Latin-flavored score and hip-hop dance moves. (Note from Broadway.com: “The street-savvy younger characters occasionally swear, but it’s not any worse than your average PG movie. In this candy-coated take on El Barrio there’s really nothing to offend the kids, who will undoubtedly appreciate the “cool” factor of a central character who emotes in rap.”)
