Brandon Royce-Diop, a Barton alumnus, takes on the roles of Student Development/Behavioral Specialist and Athletic Director at Barton. Brandon is completing his teaching license and Masters of Education from the University of St. Thomas. He received his bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN.

Brandon worked most recently as the lead designer of the mentorship programs for St. Paul Public Schools, where he also served as a college preparation coach, mentor and counselor. For the past year, Brandon has also held the role of Advocacy Fellow for the Minnesota Minority Education Partnership, where he designed and coordinated diversity programming and has been conducting research on alternatives to suspension and restorative justice.

LeeAnn Sudduth joins our staff as the new Barton office assistant. LeeAnn has 13 years of experience in both Minneapolis Public Schools and Edina Public Schools in office clerical, managerial, guidance and receptionist roles. In addition to her work in elementary and middle schools, LeeAnn worked in Student Placement for MPS.

LeeAnn is an active member of the Minneapolis community, where she and many of her family members were pioneers and leaders in civil rights work for the past six decades. LeeAnn has admired Barton Open School for years and is “excited to work with and serve the students, staff, and parents of Barton and become an active member of this community.”

Welcome LeeAnn and Brandon!
