Wolf Ridge Trip Reflections

Middles Teachers
Matt, Kathy, Mary, Becky, Katrina

The Barton 5th and 6th graders went to Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center up by Lake Superior. They left on Monday, October 26th at about 7:45 AM. We arrived at Wolf Ridge about 12:20 PM, had lunch and went straight to our first classes. The classes included: Stream Study, Lake Study, Adventure Ropes Course, Geology, Phenology, Small Mammals, Wildlife Management, Earth Works and Voyageur Life. They also had night classes which were: Owl Pellets, Night Hike, Woodland Art, First Games and the Lake Superior Game. After all that learning, they still went on to a one hour presentation each evening with the Wolf Ridge Naturalists about Raptors and Glaciers. Then we finally went to our dorms – the boys had rooms on one side and the girls on the other.

During eating times some kids worked on KP, which is known as Kitchen Party. Some kids cleaned dishes, others served food. Most of the kids did not like the food, but besides the food, Wolf Ridge Camp was SO MUCH FUN and SO MUCH LEARNING!
