Zoo Information
Monday, October 12, 2015 11:30 AM

Good morning room 8 families,

Tomorrow we have our MN ZOO field trip! Here are a few logistics:

  • This morning the kids chose their groups according to parents that are joining us on the trip
  • Parents who are volunteering (Ashton's mom, Noa S.L.'s dad, Lucy's mom, Henry's mom, Graham's mom, Ella's mom, Sara's mom and Hazel's dad) please come to Barton at 8:45am
  • We will leave Barton at 8:50am
  • Parents can join us on the busses or may drive separately to the zoo
  • Students' lunches are provided at the zoo (all beef hot dog and other snacks) but if students wish to bring their own lunch they can
  • We also have a mandatory class at 10:45am in the Earth classroom (near the main entrance)
  • Lunch is from 11:45-12:15pm in the cafeteria
  • We leave the zoo at 1pm

The students and I will go over expectations tomorrow morning. I will let them know that we will avoid going into the shop at the zoo...we want to utilize our time in order to see all of the animals and exhibits. :-)

*Today the students will receive information about our next book report due November 3rd. This time the students will read a fictional chapter book and create a flip book. Next week we will make flip books in class. Homework for this week is to continue reading and start drafting their report (cover page, setting, characters, main problem, summarize how story ends and their opinion of book). Look for this info. sheet! It should come home today.

Thank you for your support. Have a wonderful MEA break.
